Facilities

NIOZ provides the Netherlands’ marine scientific community with a wide range of state-of-the-art facilities. These include research vessels and seagoing equipment to explore and sample the oceans, advanced analytical laboratories and technical support, as well as library services and a data portal that ensure long-term access to knowledge and scientific information.

Research vessels

The national research fleet consists of three innovative research vessels: RV Anna Weber-van Bosse, RV Wim Wolff and RV Adriaen Coenen, each for a specific area of operation.

Seagoing equipment

We maintain, develop and operate a diverse pool of specialized seagoing equipment for the marine science community in the Netherlands.

Library services

The NIOZ library is a hub for scholarly information in a wide variety of ways. The library supports and works together with researchers to provide access to, advise on and disseminate scientific publications.

Data portal

We focus on safe-guarding valuable and often unique research data, and on sharing this data when possible.
